2011 Friday's Alive
Popular Free Concert Series returns to downtown Lexington in Davidson Park..
The downtown sounds of summer continue hosted by the Lexington-Rockbridge Jaycees. The "Friday's Alive concert series" which is the premier summer staple of Lexington community entertainment will once again host FREE outdoor concerts in gorgeous Davidson Park. A special THANKS goes to the assistance and support of the City of Lexington, Washington and Lee University and the Chamber of Commerce.
Many of your favorites of years past return once again ... Keith Bryant and Ironhorse will open the summer series in Lexington on June 3rd! The band plays from 6-9pm each evening---seating (your chairs and blankets of course!) will begin around 5:30pm ... or earlier for those prime shaded seats! Admission is free and the Jaycees suggest you come early and stay late! PLEASE remember, no outside food, drink or pets are allowed--all proceeds from sales go to our three benefiting charities. This year we ask that you bring "the food of the month" or non-perishable items to each concert to support the Rockbridge Relief Association (RARA).
This family-oriented concert series will benefit three fine organizations this year:
- The Rockbridge SPCA
- Rockbridge Area Free Clinic
- The Blue Ridge Autism and Achievement Center - Buena Vista (BRAAC-BV)
